Paver Sealing in Vero Beach, FL

I got the call to pressure wash a gorgeous paver driveway that was around 5 or more years old. It had a light layer of dirt and organic growth that came off with ease during the pressure washing process. After the brick was cleaned sealing their paver driveway was discussed. Once the job was agreed upon, I obtained the needed sealant. The sealant sets to a matte finish and can last around five years depending on brand and direct weathering.

When paver sealing, it is important to have a clean surface. I also applied sand to the pavers prior to sealing them. The sand erodes naturally over time. Adding sand to the joints or gaps in between the bricks with a broom helps hold the pavers in place, especially after they are sealed.

On a day when the weather was projected to be good, the sealant is mixed according to the label and used the same day.The sealant was applied in layers, and dried in-between each coat. A well coated and even application is important for longevity.

To apply the sealant, a pump up sprayer was used. Mix the product well and pour it into the sprayer. Start by spraying the paver driveway from one end to the other. All the while, be sure to over lap the product each row that is sprayed by half to obtain a well saturated coat. When the sealant is applied, it initially has a milky appearance but will dry and leave the pavers with a wet look. When the job is complete avoid heavy weight bearing traffic for 72 hour and light foot traffic for 24 hours.
